Outfit Post: Am wearing Oxblood :D (and a hair cut update!)

Hola chicas! :D The past weekend was one of the best I have had in a long time :) Why? Am not so sure but I have a strong inkling that it was because of the fact that it was a perfect blend of shopping, updating my fashion quotient, learning to cook a new dish, Diwali cleaning, meeting close friends and getting a makeover :) I'll go about each one in detail...

Lemme start with some retail healing. I absolutely abhor the phrase "retail therapy" as it has become too jaded and over-used. So much so that people going for grocery shopping also label the experience as retail therapy! No offense here but seriously any shopping or "buying" experience cannot be termed as retail therapy you know! Come on look it up... HINT: If you are always retail therapy-ing then you are a patient of chronic depression! And we know that at least us in the beauty blogging world are not depressed :)
So anyways, I actually went to the mall to exchange shirt for the Pati and well I returned without 1/4 of my salary :P Picked up a couple of tops from Promod and Zara and a few accessories from Accessorize :D While browsing through the racks at Zara, I came across a few Oxblood pieces, mostly in leather. Does Oxblood leather look HOT or what! But with almost negligible winters in Pune, buying a 5K worth of Oxblood Leather vest doesn't really makes sense now... So I checked out a few Oxblood pieces in materials other that leather but nothing really was flattering. I mean I really thought Oxblood isn't really the color for me :( Then I remembered having a Top in Oxblood that I had got myself a long time ago! he he he and I so wore it to office today ;)

There at the mall I met with some old and very close friends, shared a cup of coffee with them, chatted, gossiped and returned home all invigorated... I know I know I should have clicked a few outfit pics but alas I was running short of time (as usual) :P

But the major highlight of the weekend was my hair makeover :D By now you all must have guessed that I have gotten my hair straightened/rebonded but I also went a step ahead and got myself some front fringes to accentuate my mongloid features :) My main motive to do so? Well you see the pati loves the fact that I have ch*nki (no I did not use the word, rather masked it with an *) blood in me and totally digs it when I look more the part :P
So well here's how it looks on me... Ta da...

Now coming back to the main point of the post... The Outfit!!! Here is what I am wearing to office today :)

I have not been well since past couple of days and needless to say I could not and well did not do any makeup or wear any extra ordinary outfits ;) I was just too lazy, sluggish, lethargic and well ill to take any interest in anything other than meds, sleep and maggi... Yup Maggi is my fav food when I am sick and it sure serves as comfort food.

Weekly Roundup1: Rants, Instagram et al

I am going to Mumbai yet again! :D And this time it's special cause it'll be like a reunion of sorts... Family side as well as my school friends' side :) Plus since the pati is out of town, I'll get to have a guilt-free trip without having to worry about what he had for dinner and if the maid came to do "bartan" and all that gharelu stuff ;) On the flip side my mom-in-law who really keeps worrying about me being alone here will get to have some rest mentally not having to worry about my safety! :D hehehe Isn't she sweet? :) Plus my mum in Mumbai is ecstatic cause this weekend not only her daughter (ahem! me) but also both her sisters are visiting from Kolkata and Nagpur.... So she is like on Cloud 9 or something :D And of course papa is just so relieved that I am coming to give him company cause else he would have been totally smothered by his "saalis" hahahahha :D

And most important of all, I get to visit MAC :) Cause Pune MAC is shut due to a fire in the mall :(

 This week went by in a daze... You would think with pati out of town I would get all the time in the world to do makeup for my blog and stuff but I have been so busy with the Handlooms Of India photoshoots that I am not even getting time to breathe :( Not that I am not enjoying it! I am loving it to the core... I am getting to know so much and prance around in the best handlooms I have ever laid eyes on that I am almost in a dreamworld. The HOI people have become really good friends and I am enjoying so much :) But since the weather is so unpredictable in Pune (rains, drizzles and sudden sunshine), we are unable to shoot outside :( Waiting for the next month when we will be able to have some outdoor shots as well :) Here is one from this week...

I don't know if I am allowed to tell you all but there is this another super exciting thing coming up :) We will very soon be shooting for North Eastern handlooms at HOI :D yay! You have no idea how beautiful Manipuri handlooms are! They are simple amazing and something you would have never seen anywhere else :) Gorgeous is the word! I am so proud of it you :) What say Awungshi and Bharati? ;)

Oh and there are so many products that are pending review. My sweet co-sister Kannu had very thoughtfully sent me some Kryolan eye shadow bases but I am just so not getting time to even try them :( Sighhhh... But next week pakka! :D

 Btw I have lost a huge amount of weight! Some people say it's because I am pining for the pati to come back soon but I say, it's cause of the healthy lifestyle I am getting to lead in his absence ;) Ha ha no no not that he forces me to be unhealthy (he'll kill me if he reads this) but somehow he has the "Punjabiyon di shaan wakhri" waala effect on me and yup the newly acquired Punjabi-ness starts rearing its head in me and I become super liberal with desi-ghee and makkhan on my aloo parathas :P You know what I mean ;) Oh how I love to share makkhan maarke aloo parathas with malai waali-dahi Sunday brunches with him :( Awwww I miss him! :'(
But on a happier note, here's the thin me! Yup this is last night's pic I took after coming back from a girl friends night out with my besties Prajakata and Manu :)

 Oh coming back to pending posts, my co-sister Kannu had started her own design house called Patola... She designs some totally unique "kurtas" and well she has been sweet enough to design a couple of them for me :) Yeah yeah I will be flaunting them too especially since I am in this major "clothes-horse" mode all thanks to HOI.. LOL :)

Oh! I am planning to get my nose pierced for the 3rd time now... I had my nose pierced first in 2008, then since it was bit lower than it is supposed to be I got it pierced again in 2010 in the correct position but after my wedding I removed it and now the pierce is no longer "usable" and it has left an ugly mark :( So am gonna get my nose pierced again and restart wearing a nose ring :)

What To Wear, My Rant, Sushi, Anniversary Celebrations & The Cake!

Wow just take a look at the title and you would know what a busy day I have had yesterday :) But yup one of the most memorable as well... Of course by now everyone of you all who actually follow my blog know that yesterday was our first wedding anniversary and well the "non-mushy" couple that we are we wanted to celebrate it with things we like to do together rather than what we are supposed to do ;) I am sure most of you can relate to this :D

Pati and I met 6 years ago when we were both fresh out of our engineering colleges and had got campus placed into KPIT Cummins Infosystems Ltd... He a Delhi dude from Nagpur University and moi a half chink(i), half bong from Pune University... And well it was love at first sight :P Ok may not be love really but at least "intrigue" at first sight ;) I was fresh out of a painful break-up and he was well this single ready to mingle kinda guy...

Any guesses what was the pick-up line he used on me? Well I am standing in the lunch queue, waiting for hot chappatis with "bhindi" (ladies finger) on my plate and this guy comes up to me and exclaims "Ewwww how can you even eat bhindi?"... I look at him with surprise and remark "Who in the world doesn't like bhindi" and then we got talking... I came to know within a couple of days that "bhindi" is actually his favorite vegetable :P Ha ha ha... Talk about being original!

Well then we would very often bunk our training sessions (from office!) and go for movies and stuff... Neither he nor I have ever "proposed" to each other... We didn't talk about being in a relationship and we never spoke about getting married... People around us assumed that we were a couple and eventually parents and brothers and sisters assumed that we were gonna get married :P But there was this one time when we had this huge fight and we broke up... In order to get away from all of it I took a long leave and escaped to my hometown in Imphal... But he pursued me relentlessly and well we finally realised that we were in love  and wanted the whole "happily ever after" thing with each other :) Ha ha ha and well the rest as they say is history :P

Yup! He likes giving I am Dude expressions!

So this time we decided to do things that was important to us like go to a sports bar to watch a Euro2012 match like I told you all in my previous post... Our parents were like we thought you guys had gone dancing or for a romantic candlelight dinner ;) Hehehehe.. Well honestly? Nothing beats the adrenaline rush of seeing your team score a goal, with a lot of other people cheering as well especially when you are a couple of shots down! :D Then of course as midnight struck, both of us cut the cake...

The cake.. Oh the cake... I had it ordered from Parita of Parita's Kitchen. Those of you who don't know her, she is super talented, fabulously skilled baker who has her own blog about the little delights that she bakes... The best part about her cooking is that she puts that extra effort into whatever she is baking... Here is a peek at the cake she baked for us :)

The pati and I were astonished at the richness of the chocolate cake and the cute little edible treats that she had made for us scattered around the cake.. There were these chocolate lipsticks and high heeled shoes for me and choco footbal and apple logos for the pati... She actually took the pain to find out what the pati really likes and made this little treat for us :) And don't even get me started on the icing that she did for us :) It was a bunch a chocolate roses on the cake! Wow! And the cake was sooo moist! Yum!

And finally for the main anniversary night dinner Pati and I decided to try out something new and zeroed on "SUSHI" :) We were both gonna try Japanese cuisine for the first time and we decided to go to the "O" Hotel, which houses Pune's only Japanese restaurant :) And well here are a couple fo pics of the "delicacies" that they offered us :) We had Edamame, Miso Soup, Salmon Sushi and Octopus Sushi... Though the tastes were very different but both of us quite surprisingly enjoyed it :)

My Rant: Just Like That (JLT)

Hello people :) I don't know if it has become notice-able but I have been slacking-off from doing posts and replying to all of your comments... I am sooo very sorry about that, especially the not replying to comments part :( I know it's super rude on my part...

But it's just that I have been really busy and now the monthly woes that have gotten to me and left me helpless, hapless and totally in a b*tchy mood :( Sighhhhh... So anyways, I had to give you guys so many updates you know, so I thought I'd just do a mass mailer kinda post where I'll update you all about what went through my life these past few days :) *trying to create suspense where there is none* :P

First off and the most important of all, I met Anks of Novice Makeup. Yup! I met her :D She had come down to Mumbai on Sunday and well last weekend I was in Mumbai too, so we agreed to meet up at Phoenix Mills compound at Lower Parel. It was awesome! :D Just as if we meet each other every weekend or something ;) It wasn't awkward, it wasn't boring and it wasn't even like a blogger's meet. It was more like friends meeting up for afternoon coffee or something :) She brought along her daughter too and well I must say Kuhu is a darling :) Such a happy baby! And the best part was she actually liked me! :D *kids generally don't like me*... This was a second in a month for me cause two weekends back when I met up with Parul, her daughter too took a liking for me :) Yay! :D I am finally becoming less scary to babies :)

Another update would be that I got myself a new mascara. I had been using Maxfactor's False Lash Effect Mascara all this while and since I finished my tube I had to get a new one. Yes I always finish my mascaras within 6 months! So this time I got myself MAC's Zoom Lash Mascara. Yup I would be reviewing it in a couple of weeks... Gimme some time to try it out properly people! :P

What else? Hmmmm.... I did a makeup swap with Awungshi of http://drpoisonivy.blogspot.co :D She needed a silver liner and had a Cocobar from colorbar's I-Glide range to spare and I needed a brown liner and had Colorbar I-Glide Silver Hue to spare, so we simply exchanged it :) Ha ha ha :D

Received a couple of product samples with the PR companies approaching me and not vice versa... So I was feeling pretty triumphant this whole weekend :) Reviews later!

I have kept true to my shopping ban and have purchased only products that I need (ahem the mascara)! Nothing else! I went to Health & Glow with mommy this Sunday where we tried out loads of stuff and picked up a huge bill. Once we reached home, my mom thought of segregating my stuff from hers so that when I pack my stuff to come back to Pune I wouldn't be running here and there frantically searching for my stuff. Aren't mom's really gems or something? :) So anyways, after a while I hear a squeal from my mom's room and I rush to her... She looks at me with disbelief and says "Zum (yup she calls me that) you didn't buy a single thing!"... Hahah.. Proud mommy-daughter moment it was ;)

Another incident on similar lines was when I was leaving for Mumbai, "pati" transferred a certain amount of money to my account for my shopping. He generally does that, I guess to kinda make up fot not coming with me ;) This time when I cam back I returned the cash to him (yes I love myself some melodrama) and he just stared at me asking "You didn't buy ANYTHING? Nothing at all?" and well I gave him a sly smile and well lets just say that everything was happy happy after that ;)

So moral of the story, I am almost over my addiction for shopping and I am sooo proud of it :)

My Rant: My GOA Trip :D

PIC HEAVY (Warning)

Hello everyone :) As you all know I had taken a little hiatus from blogging and was MIA as I was busy getting tanned and drunk in Go-Goa :D Here are some of my pics and well a couple OOTDs and LOTDs and even HOTDs (Hair of the Day)... Hope you guys like it :D

We stayed at a cute "vintagey" hotel called Hotel Seagull near the Calangute beach, partied at Mambo's and on Anjuna, did water sports at Calangute Beach and spent a lazy afternoon on Baaga... In all it was a great weekend and well lots of money well spent ;) The only stumbling block was the 9 hours bus journey from Pune to Mapusa through the western ghats and back... I have severe motion sickness and well bus journey through ghats is something I seriously dislike! :P

The result all this is an NC48 skin, super hungover Monday coupled with major bouts of vomiting due to motion sickness and lots of cuts, nicks and bruises all over the legs and back due to the beach sand... But all in all well worth the effort ;) I am sure the pics will tell u why :P
