#MetallicNails #F/W2012
Now Vogue and Grazia have only been harping on how huge metallic nails are this season... Now I for one do like to look at glossy magazine pages strewn with metallic nail polish laden hands and nails but when it comes to my own manicures that I need to sport everyday, I generally prefer my brights and that too no metal. So how does one strike a balance between the trending nail fad and one's fav (and comfortable) manicure habit?
I kinda found a way in between :P and am quite happy with the result :D

REVIEW: Revlon ColorStay Creme Gel Liner in Plum Prune
I had read quite raving reviews about this product for non-Indian beauty blogs and when I saw them at the Revlon counter in Pune Central, I knew I had to have at least of these... I did think of grabbing two of these, the brown one and the purple one, but the Sensible Suma that does pop up once in a while warned me against it and advised me to first try out one of them. So I automatically picked up the purple one and brought it home with me.
My first reaction when I opened it was like "It's soooo tiny" and no the reaction was not in a cute way. It was more out of indignation than anything else... I mean they made me pay about 650/- bucks on such a tiny dibbi??? Then I took out the tiny brush that came with it and the cute way it would park itself inside the cap of the container lightened my mood and I was hopeful again :) Pigmentation wise it was superb and I love the little sparkly purple line that it created in just one stroke :)
I wore it and lo and behold, within an hour it vanished! It Vanished Into Thin Air!!! Can you even imagine my dismay :( Well on the brighter side it didn't smudge or crease or run down my face but it did vanish like Mr. India and nope that didn't earn any brownie points from me :( I made my mom try it and well her lids aren't as oily as mine and it fared much better on her... So am guessing it's my oily lids to blame (?)...

It costs around INR 650/ or 695/- for 2.4 gms. I don't remember the exact price, so go ahead correct me :)
Repurchase?
Nah! With the amount of oil my eye lids generate, it would be smarter for me to invest in some other gel liners ;)
Would I Recommend
Well, if you do not have oily lids and love a sparky purple liner, then this is for you :) It doesn't smudge or crease and no it doesn't give you purple raccoon eyes ;)
But if you have oily lids then this product is simple useless for you as it wont stay on you for an hour...

My Experience with Revlon Colorburst Lipstick
Revlon Colorburst Lipstick range is one of the very famous range. Packed in a standard twist plastic case, the case is all black with just the color indication on top of the cap. The cap has cross wires like mark which makes it very attractive.

Peach is one shade that is a perfect peach. No mixture of other colors is found in this shade. A very good color that all skin tone ladies can flaunt easily. Lipstick is very smooth and moisturizing. Since it is very creamy, it does not stay on for long. It puts up for a maximum of two hours. In spite of this low staying power, I am liking this range of lipstick.

REVIEW & LOTD: Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Peach
You know when you go out and buy something just because it is being written and talked about so much that if you yourself don't get it then you get a feeling of being left out? Of course you don't require it but you "need" it :P Classic examples? Maybelline BB Cream, MAC Cosmo, MAC Paint Pots and of course Colorbar I-Glide Pencils! For me another one joins the list and that is the range of Revlon Colorburst Lipsticks! Out of the list, Maybelline BB Cream and MAC Paint Pots Passed while MAC Cosmo and I-Glide Pencils Failed :( Colorburst lippies? Let's see :)
I bought my first Revlon Colorburst Lippy on Sunday during the Pune Blogger's Meet. How did I decide on the shade? Well a few days back I was going through other beauty blogs when I came across Sukanya's post about Revlon Colorbusrt Lipstick in Peach and she looked lovely with it :) So I knew this was the shade that was going to inaugurate my buying Revlon Colorburst Lippies :)
But unfortunately, as much as it looked yummy on Sukanya, it looked terrible on me :( Completely washing me out and making me look quite sick and ill... The lippy quality as such is pretty impressive and it does stay on for quite sometime but this particular shade isn't made for me :P
Revlon Colorburst Peach is a sheer peach shade with fine shimmery particles, which looks gorgeous in a swatch and well I feel it would go with all skin tones except mine, which is uncannily YELLOW :P Sukanya, sweetie you are one lucky girl that this shade looks so gorgeous on you! I wish it did on me too :( And thank you so much for finally opening the world of Revlon Colorburst lippies to me! :D *much indebted*
Like I said it makes me look ill, but I haven't thrown it away. I have two uses for it... One that it looks gorgeous as a cream blush and second I wear it to office when I have to show that I am not well and need to leave early :P B*tchy? I know! :P

2. It does stay on for a decent amount of time and leaves behind a pretty tint
3. The quality of the Colorburst lippies is good. They are not drying at all.
4. Totally love the checkered packaging!
5. It makes it very easy for me to look ill and leave office early (ok kidding!)
Ouches!!
1. It enhances the lines on my lips.
2. It is expensive!
3. It washes me out :(

Repurchase?
Hmmmm.. Not this one definitely but yup I'll try other shades in this range.
Would I Recommend?
Only if you have non-pigmented lips. And I would suggest you to first try it out on your lips at the store and only then buy it!

READER QUERY: Loose Powders and Mascaras
Hey guys... Sharmi has a few doubts and would like some help from all of us...
Her queries are as follows:
1. I have hypersensitive oily skin. I am thinking to buy Oriflame Loose Powder in Medium shade. Does it give a good coverage?
2. I wear specs. I have small scare eyelashes. I want to wear mascara. Last time I used, I had experience falling of lashes. Could you refer me a excellent mascara.
3.Do you have any ideas how I can have thick eye lashes naturally?

1. Oriflame loose powder is a good option if you have oily skin. I have always felt that loose powder is a better option than compact and Oriflame products are know to never cause any reactions to the skin :) Oriflame as such offers two kinds of loose powders--- Giordani Gold Mineral loose powder and Oriflame Air Soft Powder. Both give excellent coverage. The Giordani Gold Mineral loose powder comes in "light" and "medium" shades and has an applicator puff with it. The Air soft powder on the other hand comes in "clear" and "light". It doesn't have a puff with it.
Though I have dry skin, I have super oily lids and so I myself use the Air Soft powder. If u need something for your whole face with a "foundation"-like coverage then you might go for the Giordani Gold Mineral powder.
2. I personally would recommend three brands:- Revlon, Oriflame and Maybelline. I use the Revlon waterproof mascara, Maybelline Colossal Volume mascara and Oriflame's Vision V* Freaking mascara... All in BLACK!!! :D They do not cause reactions and have good volumizing effects :)
3. For naturally thickening one's lashes my mom always recommends using CASTOR OIL on the lashes before retiring for bed :)
