What To Wear: To A Dinner Get Together with Friends

This is what happens when you force a beauty blogger to stop buying cosmetics... She takes up the challenge, stops buying makeup products, ends up buying new clothes and shoes with the money saved and slowly makes "space" in her beauty blog for some fashion and outfit posts... Yes I am Samyukta and I am a Shop-a-holic and of course I am guilty as charged to the phenomenon described above.

So yeah yesterday I had a happy co-incidence of buying myself a new top and then was invited to dinner. Needless to say I wore my new top to dinner and well my today's "What To Wear" post is all about it :)

Outfit
What I wore was a navy blue chiffon "bandage" top from Van Heusen and paired with Black super skinny Jeans from Lee and my suede peep-toe pumps from Enroute... I carried a dull green lizard skin clutch from Hidesign... Ideally a long gold chain necklace would have looked fabulous with the outfit but since I hate (read allergic to) wearing imitation jewellery, I skipped that part :)

Top: Van Heusen
Skinny Jeans: Lee
Peeptoe Pumps: Enroute
Green Clutch: Hidesign

MakeUp
For my makeup I made a crease with MAC Folie, then applied MAC Genuine Treasure Paint Pot on my lids and accentuated the outer-V with a dark blue eye shadow from my Sleek Bad Girl Palette :)
Then I applied a bit of bronzer to my cheeks over NYX Cream Blush "Glow".
On my lips I used Maxfactor's Lip Pencil in Shade 14 Raspberry and topped it with Chambor Silk Lipstick in Cherry.

Hair
For my hair, I teased my hair at the crown area and clipped the "pouf" thus created. Then I wore a hair band as you can see and let my hair fall in waves around my face :)

Hope you guys liked the look :)

What To Wear: To A Blogger's Meet...

Not many of you know that we had a mini Pune Beauty Bloggers Meet this Sunday and though neither of us took any pics I thought I would still tell you all about it :) 5 of us met up i.e. Parul, Zara, Pranali, Parita and I at the MAC store in Park Plaza Koregaon Park where we spent almost 2 hours, trying out each and every eye shadow and lipstick shades on display :P LOL! The SAs know us very well by now and just let us be on our own trying out stuff and experimenting :D It's almost like a second home to us now :D he he...

Then Parul left us cause she had guests at home and the rest of us proceeded towards the food court to fuel up ourselves for the next course of the journey :D We next went to SGS Mall on MG Road and scoured through Staples to pick up stuff for reorganizing, then raided TBS and finally Westside :D What all did I buy? You'll need to wait for the next post for that :P

LOTD: Summer Green Smokey Eyes

I love smokey eyes, of course it isn't really a surprise for you guys but you'll notice a pattern shifting in my smokey eye looks lately. You'll notice less heavy lids, less usage of darker shades and minimal use of even black eye shadow. Yes I am adapting my smokey eyes to the Summer season and making it more friendly for the "hot" season (yes pun intended)... I love Summers and nothing makes me feel cooler than certain shades of pink, green and blue :)

Today's smokey look is basically using a Green eye shadow (MAC Humid) over MAC Paint Pot in Genuine Treasure and a little hint of black in the outer V of my lids... Hope you guys like the look and yup a video tute is in the pipeline ;)

Products Used:
1. MAC Paint Pot in Genuine Treasure
2. MAC Humid Eye Shadow
3. Colorbar Black Tie Eye Shadow
4. MUFE Star Powder in Shade 940
5. Colorbar Stick Concealer

7. Maxfactor False Lash Effect Mascara

LOTD: Smokey Eyes with MAC Genuine Treasure Paint Pot

You all know I hauled at MAC the previous weekend and one of the products that I bought at that time was MAC Paint Pot in Genuine Treasure... Its a gorgeous product and I can very safely say that it is the best paint pot I have ever seen or used :) It seems to have these chunky glitter particles but when you actually touch it and feel it, the paint pot is really soft and smooth and nope you cannot feel the "chunkiness" :) Its GORGEOUS! :D

I did a smokey eye look with the paint pot and this is how it has turned out to be... I am loving the result :) and I am hoping you guys like it too :)

Btw, if you all like then I would love to do a video tutorial for it :)

P.S. Checkout my messy side-bun... Isn't it chic? ;)

Weekend HAUL: MAC Cosmetics...

It had been a while I had shopped at MAC (1.25 months to be precise) and well I was waiting for my new salary so that I could just go and raid MAC ;) And well, since I do not like to waste time, I was at MAC on 31st March i.e. yesterday ;) Best part? Apart from the haul of course was that my bestie was with me (I finally bullied her into buying a MAC) and then I met fellow bloggers, Zara and Parul there too :) What a way to start a weekend right? :P

So what did I buy? Well the first thing I wanted was the MAC Lip Erase thingy... But was greatly disappointed :( The MUA applied it on me and then whichever lippy I tried over it would invariably settle into the lines :( She did say that it would need a prior exfoliation of my lips to give best results... But then I wasn't paying a huge amount for something that I wasn't really sure if it would work on me :( So... I did not buy it! :P

Then I moved onto the quest of finding the perfect nude lippy for me :P Yes those who are with me on FB and Twitter would recollect that I was taking suggestions from you all on your fav MAC nude lippy... Well I tried out all of them... Hug Me, Half N Half, Cream In Your Coffee, Teddy etc but alas they all made me look so pale and washed out sighhhh... So I finally tried out "Taupe"... Now if you have seen my wish list on the right side of this page, you will see that I had listed "Taupe" in it and well when I put it on, it was my MLBB lippy... Never knew my lips were so pigmented! :P

So anyways, enough of my rambling and here are the pics :)

Btw, the MAC MUA "Deenika" was quite taken with my eyes ;) Hehe *happy me*... She tried a couple of eye makeup tricks on my eyes and then finally asked me if I would be willing to come around to the store when free and she would like trying a few strokes on my eyes ;) Can you even imagine how flattered I felt?! ;) Hehehehehe... Neeraj Navare also told me that he would love to do some makeup on my eyes and now Deenika said it too... I am Cloud 9 *obviously* ;) *giggle giggle*
