How To Wear: Flower Power To Office ;)

I am in a superb mood today... Why I dunno and well when I am in a good mood, I take a looobnnnngggg time to dress up for office ;) Plus I was in the mood for some Red and some flowers and so I took out this top of mine... Now before I go any further, lemme clarify that I am a simple makeup-ista who also loves to dress up and so there will be instances when I will repeating some part of my outfit sometimes... It could be my denims, my shoes so bear with me... I generally tend to repeat my clothes very often until I clear my wardrobe and the clothes lying at the back all forgotten come to the fore :P And this phenomenon takes place once every two months ;)

So anyways... Coming back to my today's outfit, I wore this and I am so loving my outfit today ;)

MakeUp For Office: Red Lipstick To Office? Why Not? :P

Poohkie asked me the other day if I wear Red Lipsticks to Office and well that gave me an idea that I could surely do a "Make-Up For Office" post with a Red Lippy :) Well as you can see I do wear Red lipsticks to office but as a stain.. So basically all I do is dab on some red lippy and then kiss into tissues for a couple of times and Voila! a stained Red Lip is ready for office :)

MakeUp For Office: Something to go with Red and Blue Tartan

There is this connection I feel with Scottish bagpipes... Their soulful tunes, their solo pibrochs and their tall good looking Kilt clad bagpipers... I love them all and well when you love Scottish bagpipes so much then love for the Tartan isn't something that can allude you :) Yup you got it :) I love Tartans :) And I got myself this Tartan shirt from UCB (United Colors of Benetton?) in the traditional red and blue, which I decided to wear to office today :) And well when the shirt is bright ladies and gentle so is my make-up (though its a makeup sin) :P

Makeup For Office: Eye Shadow Wash on a Black Base

Whatever time we wake up in the morning, even if we don't "snooze" our alarms, even if our offices/colleges are close by, at least thrice in a week we do experience rushed mornings, now don't we? Something or the other always comes up and we end up rushing through our dressing and make-up and speeding towards work or in some cases college :) Don't know bout many of you but this sure is the case with me. Even though I leave for office at around 10:00 am, I am always running late. But does this mean I give up on make-up? No no no ways :) I would do anything but go to office without make-up :P It's taken me a while but I guess I have now mastered the art of "quick" 7 minutes make-up resulting in a look that says I have taken at least half an hour ;) It looks something like this...

I call this look an eye shadow wash on a black base. For those who are new to the concept of "eye shadow wash", let me explain it to you :) An eye shadow wash is nothing but a glorified name given to the technique of applying one single eye shadow from lash line to brow bone. Yup thats it! :) But I have made some changes to that technique.

Here is the outcome of the look and do tell if you people liked it :) Parita has already asked for a tutorial for this. Let me know if anyone else needs it too :)

Makeup For Office: A quick look!

When you are a part of an inter-community marriage, important decisions like what to cook for dinner is never easy! *sarcasm*. Mine as you all know is one, my guy is a Punjabi and I am mixed bred Manipuri and Bengali. Food habits across these three states are as different as chalk and cheese and well the discussion over what to eat isn't as straight forward! But for our love for each other (ahem!), my food habits are turning Punjabi and well my guy is stuck somewhere between a Bengali and Manipuri! LOL! Why do I say so? Well for starters I prefer roti or parathas for dinner while he wants to have rice else he remains hungry all night! hahaha! Another instance would be last night, when he wanted to have fish (maachh bhaja bengali style) and I wanted to have "chhole"... hahahahaha. So what did we finally do? We cooked both! LOL :D

Why do I bring this all up on a Monday morning afternoon you ask? Well that's because when these important dinner decisions are taken at 10:00 pm at night, the dinner is ready by 11:00 pm and we eventually finish with our dinner and an episode of Dexter by 1:00 am and then I decide to wash my hair at 1:30 am and we are finally in bed by 2:15 am, the dawning Monday morning is a scramble to reach office on time. And if you know me well, I never leave home without make-up. All the more reason I write this post and show my quick make-up look that I do for such rush-rush mornings :)

I generally prefer wear metallic eye makeup and neutral toned lips. Here I have done metallic blue eyes and pale nude almost Kim Kardashian type lips ;)
