EOTD: Soft Smokey Eyes... Double Winged Liners... Et Al

Till maybe yesterday 8:00 pm, I was on a winged liner roll.. I thought nothing could look cooler than the little flick that I did at the end of my liner... But God had some other plans for me ;) While doing an EOTD for the blog, I messed up my liner while winging it and voila I discovered that I had the ability to do a double winged and it looked good on me :D Yay! So ladies... Here goes...

Excuse The Oily Face :P

With Instagram Effects (I am so Addicted!)

MakeUp Breakup
1. MAC RicePaper - All over the lid, inner corners as well as a bit on the under eye area.
2. Inglot Matte 378 - Outer V and Crease
3. Maybelline Gel Liner - Lower Waterline
4. Colorbar Precision Waterproof Liquid Liner - Upper Lashline
5. MAC Zoom Black Lash Mascara

So how do you like the look? Do you like the double winged liner trend?

P.S. I am planning on selling a couple of my MAC stuff as some of the shades do not suit me :( Would you be interested in me keeping a sale?

Tutorial: Cover Inspired Bold Winged Eye MakeUp

Hello everyone :) I feel all bright and chirpy today cause I have had a super productive morning and well nothing cheers me up more than ticking off items off my "To Do List" :) Raise hands if you feel the same :) And one such item on my to-do list was to do a tutorial for a look I had done a long time ago here and which many of you and specially Roshini has been waiting for :)

Ok, if you are one of those who don't check embedded links like me, then to remind you all, this was the look I had done inspired by Harper's Bazaar's Anniversary Issue where they had Vidya Balan look smoking hot in straight bangs and sultry eye makeup :) The following was my version and this is the tutorial for it! (Yes Finally!) :D

Products Used:
1. Maybelline Gel Liner
2. NYX Eyeshadow Base in Skintone
3. MAC Zoom Fast Lash Mascara
4. Black Eye Shadow
5. Flat Smudger Brush (Colorbar Brush No 122)

Procedure:
1. Apply eye shadow base generously on your eye lids as well as under your eyes.

2. Apply Black gel liner/kajal in your waterline and tightline generously. Do not worry about keeping the application neat.

3. Apply the same black gel liner/kajal around your eyes i.e. on your upper and lower lashline "thickly".

4. Using the flat smudger brush and taking some black eye shadow with it, apply it around your eyes on the liner/kajal that you previously applied. This is done for two reasons... One cause it seals the kajal from smudging and two cause it gives a smudged look :)

5. Next taking your liner brush/kajal, extend the liner on your lower lashline upwards in a slant. This will give the boundary and inclination to your wing. Make it as long as you like it :)

6. Next, join the liner applied on your upper lashline to the tip of the line you created in step 5. Re-read this line aloud so as to understand it properly.

7. Next, taking Black eye shadow with the flat smudger brush, pat on the shadow over the wing that you just created.

8. Finish off the look with a generous coat of mascara and you are ready to smoulder woman! :D

P.S. Please note that this isn't a tutorial of a "wearable" winged liner look. I will be doing a tutorial on that shortly :) So stay tuned!

LOTD: For the love of winged liners...

The rate at which I am posting winged eye liner looks is quite alarming cause I stand a chance of becoming a drag and well simply over-doing it. From where I caught the bug I don't know but it sure seems to be persistent and is now deep inside of me, refusing to get out. I sound as if I am talking about a virus but ladies seriously, the winged liner trend is going almost VIRAL. If you know what I mean :P

This time I did a winged liner with my Indigo blue Inglot Liner (shade 83)... And I am quite liking the result...

The confusion is if it looks better with a clear gloss or with the Pink lippy :) You comments and feedback is more than welcome :)

LOTD: Winged Eye Liner with a play of Purple and Cranberry

You all know how much I have been obsessing over winged liners lately don't you? And before you roll your eyes and say to yourself "oh no not another winged liner look", let me promise you all that nope you wouldn't be bored I promise and though I plan on doing a couple of more of these looks, I can assure you that you all would be far from bored ;)

This time I have used Purple and Cranberry eye shadows and created a not-a-very-blended-out look. Rather I have let both the eye shadow colors be very individualistic today and not be blended into a third shade. So in short I haven't allowed by shadows to marry each other and produce a third one of their kind ;) You get what I am saying? LOL. Yup I guess you could attribute this loss of my realistic thinking to #MondayBlues. Sighhhhh...

You know now that I am seeing the pics on the blog, I cannot help but feel that this makeup is making me look a bit retro, a bit catty and also giving me a sci-fi look. You think it's my #MondayBlues kicking in again? :P Haha

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a grand edition cause they are celebrating their third annual anniversary and whoa the mag size is just enormous! And there is so much juice in it! Ladies seriously! Get yourself a copy if you already haven't got one ;)

This month gracing the cover is Vidya Balan with a very edgy winged eye liner look and blunt fringes... Dude she is look smoking hot! and I fell in love with the spunky look at the mag stand in Crossword itself :P

Of course I haven't copied the look as is, I have made my variations to it though subtle and well ladies and gentlemen I here present to you my first Cover The Cover faux photo shoot look :)

P.S. Winged Liner seems to take me closer to my roots and makes me look all "chinki" and Manipuri :) My grandmom would be so proud ;)
