Reader Request: Anushka Sharma's MakeUp in the Canon Ad

Basically, importantly, fundamentally many beauty bloggers have already done this tute like Sukanya and Bidisha but Pranali has been asking me to do this since two weeks now and she kinda gave me an ultimatum to do it on Sunday during our blogger's meet and well I had to oblige :)

Sukanya and Bids you did some awesome work on it and I totally "dig" both your tutes... I hope my doing this tute isn't gonna step on any toes :) I will be doing my interpretation of the look :)

Honestly? I have taken the picture quadrant from Sukanya's blog "A Few Unnecessary Stuff" :D

My Interpretation
Anushka's look is actually a very simple, everyday look with well defined eyes and peachy lips. The overall look is crisp and can be worn almost everyday. I am even wearing it to office today :)

1. Let us analyse the eyes first...
The eyes as you can see is well defined with kohl in the waterline and no fuss with any nude or white liner to make the eyes seem bigger and stuff. If you notice her eyes in the first three quadrants, you'll feel like she has applied a lot of black smudged liner on her upper lids but if you see her profile which is the fourth quadrant you'll notice that her upper lids are actually quite crisp and thinly lined. The kohl on the lower lashline on the other hand has been smudged with a brown eye shadow.
Also her crease has been defined using a nude shade of brown eye shadow.

2. Zero or negligible blush
I have applied quite a bit of blush as I dp not have a long face like Anushka. I have more of a round face and so to make it look longer I had to apply a blush :)

3. Warm Peach lips...
Since I have pigmented lips and a lot of "yellow" undertone,Peach lippies kinda look Pink on me. So I have a darker Orange gloss to create the "warm" effect.

Tutorial
1. Take a nude/neutral brown eye shadow and using a stiff blending brush apply it in the crease area to deepen your crease. I have used MAC Texture eye shadow with MAC 226 brush.

2. Next take a very natural looking highlighter shade and apply it on your browbone area. I have used MAC RicePaper.

3. Then apply kajal on your lower waterline. Re-apply to make it really dark. I have used my Maybelline Gel Liner.

4. Then taking the same neutral brown shadow used in step 1 using a flat smudger brush, smudge the kajal in the waterline with the shadow on the lower lashline. I am using COlorbar's brush number 122.

5. Finally apply a liquid liner (no a pencil liner or gel liner not allowed :P) on the upper lashline very thinly. Finish your look with a mascara :D

6. For the cheeks I have used a bronzer and Colorbar Star Metallics Lip Gloss in Astral for the lips :)

Hope you like the tutorial :)

What To Wear: To A Sunday Brunch

A Girl Should Be Two Things: Classy & Fabulous
                                                                                                                 --- Coco Chanel

And that is exactly what I always try to be whenever I either go shopping for clothes or whenever I have to dress for any occasion...

This Saturday I went out to lunch with one of my besties' "Manu Sharma" to this really classy Italian Restaurant called Little Italy and it did call for some fabulous dressing...

I paired a champagne colored satin pencil skirt with a black sleeveless top that had rosettes around the neckline :) I wore black suede peep toe slingbacks with the outfit :) With it I took a velvet maroon pouch with another pretty rosette on it :)

My Look...

I tried keeping the makeup simple, nude and subtle and this is what I did...
Please ignore the "idiotic" expression :P
I applied:
1. Maxfactor Second Skin Liquid Foundation in "Golden"
2. MUFE star powder shade 940 wet on my eye lids
3. Blended it with MAC Texture in the crease
4. MAC ricepaper on the brow bone.
5. Colorbar Blush in Floral Fucsia on the cheeks
6. MAC Matte Lipstick in "Taupe"
7. Colorbar Star Shine Lip Gloss in "Chai"

Hope you guys liked my look :)

Garima asks,

Email1

Hey samyukta,
I am  big fan your blog and spl love d way have given tutorials for makeup. They are extremely helpful for newbies like me..Its a great effort u are putting into it;even tried doing face contouring using your tutorial and also  few eye makeups
I needed a lil help of yours. I would be wearing a pink carrotish color suit fr wedding.
If you can help me with the make up suggestion.
I have small eyes and dark circles too.
I am attaching pic of my dress for clarity of color.
Thanking you:)
loads of love

Email2
I basically fit into medium skin tone nd have just started using TV Paint stick by kryolan in FS28 and FS303 as concealer.
If you can particularly help me with the eye makeup part.

Hey Garima :) First off thank you so much for following my bog and liking it so much :) It means a lot... And thank u for recognizing my efforts :D <3 <3
Secondly let me tell you that seeing your pics that you sent me in the follow up emails I totally loved your skin :) Gorgeous skin you have :)
Finally lets get down to business ;) As you have asked me specifically for the eye makeup, I'll just concentrate on that...
1. You are using the perfect foundation and concealer, so I'll not butt in ;)
2. For the eyes, I would suggest you to go for bright/light make-up and to stay away from heavy smokey eyes look!
3. Since I recommend lighter eyes, I would suggest you to go for a bright pink lippy :) It would totally enhance your skin and brighten your face.
4. For the eye makeup, I have done two looks, pick whichever you think is appropriate for you.

Look1
Look2

Look1

For this look, I have used baby pink eye shadow, a neutral brown shadow and a shimmery purple shadow...
1. Apply MAC Painterly Paint Pot on the eye lids as a base

2. Apply a light shimmery eye shadow on the brow bone area as a highlighter. I have used MAC Nylon.

3. Apply a neutral brown/beige eye shadow using a blending brush in the crease area to make the eyes look more prominent and deep. I have used MAC Texture using MAC brush 226.

4. Apply a light pink eye shadow with a flat brush on the lid area below the crease. I have used MAC Sushi Flower.

5. Taking a blending brush, take a shimmery purple eye shadow and apply in the crease area over the neutral brown shadow. I am using Colorbar Purple Passion.

6. Take a clean blending brush and blend well in the crease area.
7. Then take a silver eye shadow and apply in the inner corners of the eyes both on the upper and lower lashline.

8. Finally, apply kajal and liner in a wing :)

Look2
This look is simpler than the previous one. All it requires is a silver glittery eye shadow and a black eye shadow.
1. Apply an eye shadow base on the lid area.
2. Apply a glittery silver eye shadow on the lid.
3. Taking a blending brush, apply the black eye shadow lightly in the outer V and blend well.
4. Finish off with kajal and a winged liner :)
