What To Wear: To Office When There Is No Dress Code...

After I have collated all your feedback, I will be starting some new sections on your recommendation... Let me start with Pranali's... She wants me to start with "What To Wear To Work" posts and well here is the first of the lot :)

My office has no dress code (Thank God!) but yeah that doesn't mean we go to office like we are on a vacation... Being casual and yet dressing up in a way that your work is taken seriously is very important. It is of utmost significance to strike a balance between the casualness of your attire and the formality of the work environment. Keeping all of this in mind, this is what I wore today...

Top: Promod
Jeans: Lee
Footwear: Catwalk

Makeup:
1. Colorbar I-Glide Pencil in Blackout
2. MAC Zoom Fast Lash Mascara
3. Colorbar Blush in Floral Fucsia
4. Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick in Bare

HairDo:
1. Flat-Ironed my hair to remove frizz and remove the obvious curl
2. Tied up my hair in a high pony-tail and a flat front
3. Wearing a thin white hairband just for some contrasting effect :)

 Accessories:
1. Pale Gold Star shaped Earrings: Vero Moda (Pieces)
2. I do not carry a handbag/purse cause my laptop bag holds everything for me :P

Hope you guys like the look :)

P.S. Yup the flats, the top and the earrings are what I bought from the sale too ;)

What To Wear: To A Sunday Brunch

A Girl Should Be Two Things: Classy & Fabulous
                                                                                                                 --- Coco Chanel

And that is exactly what I always try to be whenever I either go shopping for clothes or whenever I have to dress for any occasion...

This Saturday I went out to lunch with one of my besties' "Manu Sharma" to this really classy Italian Restaurant called Little Italy and it did call for some fabulous dressing...

I paired a champagne colored satin pencil skirt with a black sleeveless top that had rosettes around the neckline :) I wore black suede peep toe slingbacks with the outfit :) With it I took a velvet maroon pouch with another pretty rosette on it :)

My Look...

I tried keeping the makeup simple, nude and subtle and this is what I did...
Please ignore the "idiotic" expression :P
I applied:
1. Maxfactor Second Skin Liquid Foundation in "Golden"
2. MUFE star powder shade 940 wet on my eye lids
3. Blended it with MAC Texture in the crease
4. MAC ricepaper on the brow bone.
5. Colorbar Blush in Floral Fucsia on the cheeks
6. MAC Matte Lipstick in "Taupe"
7. Colorbar Star Shine Lip Gloss in "Chai"

Hope you guys liked my look :)

Giveaway...

As promised I am here with my giveaway ladies and if you ask me as to why am I doing this giveaway then I could give you vague answers like "It was my birthday three days ago" or "My blog is a year old" or "I have crossed 100 followers mark" etc... But the truth is that I am doing this giveaway because I love you guys (seriously!) and I am extremely thankful to all of you for supporting my blog and helping me improve in makeup along the way :)
As I had told you guys earlier, I have rounded up a list of my favorite or go-to products that I would love for you to have. I have reviewed most of these products and those that I haven't reviewed as yet will be reviewed soon :) Do note that the giveaway mainly consists of my favorite products from my favorite brands that include Colorabr, Faces, Maybelline and Oriflame :)
L-R: Faces Kajal, Faces Eye-shadow brush, Faces Shadow Brush #07, Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick in Peach Tango, Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipsticks in "Luscious Lilac" and "Chestnut", Faces Eye Sparkle Dust in "Gold", Colorbar Nail Lacquer in "Extrovert", Maybelline Express Finish Nail Polish in "Pearly Pastel", Oriflame Very Clickit Eye Liner Duo in Black and Brown, Oriflame Very Me Clickit Lip stain/gloss duo, Colorbar Blush in "Plum Brown"
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Here's a detailed list of products that are a part of the giveaway and yes the rules to participate in the giveaway will follow that :)
1. Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick in Peach Tango: It is no new news that I love
Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipsticks and own a variety of shades in thsi range. They are
matte lipsticks but are still very moisturizing and not at all drying. They stay on for a
very long duration and well most of the shades in this range suit the Indian Skin tone
    to the tee...
I have reviewed the following Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipsticks as of now:
2. Colorbar Nail Lacquer in Extrovert: Colorbar's Nail Lacquers are yet another of my
favorite. They stay on for long, give really good coverage to the nails and the range has
a huge variety of shades to choose from :)
I have reviewed/used the following Colorbar Nail Lacquers till now:

3. Colorbar Blush in Plum Brown: This is my HG blush and is so flattering to the
Indian skin tone that it is a must have blush for everyone. Yes it could be a bit too
dark for people with skintones below NC20 though!
It is a finely milled blush, stays for long and does not contain nay shimmer/glitter.
     I have reviewed it here:

4. Faces Cosmetics Kajal: This is like my most recent purchase and this is one kajal
purchase that I just do not regret. It has an intense color payoff, is buildable, smudges
very little and is waterproof. I have been personally using it since the past few days.
    I have reviewed it here:

5. Faces Cosmetics Sparkle Dust in Shade 02 Gold: This is like my most favorite
golden eye shadow. I had bought it to do my wedding make-up and it has become an
essential part of my make-up case especially when I get ready for some wedding
functions or festivals. It has the right amount of sparkle, blends easily, does not fade
away and stays for a long time.
     I have reviewed it here:

6. Faces Cosmetics Eye Shadow brushes: I have been using Faces shadow brushes
since a long time now and till date I have never had the opportunity to complain even
once. The bristles are soft, do not shed and do their work extremely well. Basically,
there are three favorite Faces eye-shadow brushes of mine but there were only two of
them available as of now :(
I haven't yet reviewd these brushes, but I will review them for sure in a couple of days :)

7. Maybelline Express Finish Nail Polish in Pearly Pastel
Ok, this is one product that I don't own but with the express finish and fasr drying
claim and a pretty candyfloss color how wrong can you actually get? :) The shade
Pearly Pastel is so pretty and so sheer that it would look beautiful on its own as well
as a top coat over a darker shade :) Maybe you could send in a review to
    isimplylovemakeup ;)

8. Maybelline Colorsensational  Moisture Extreme Lipsticks in Chestnut
The Colorsensastion Moisture extreme lippies from Maybelline don't really need any
introduction cause they are those rare lippies that are creamy, moisturizing, highly
pigmented and have a pretty decent staying power. These lippies are a staple in
everyone's vanities and are "go-to" lipsticks for many :) I haven't yet reviewed my
collection of moisture extreme lipsticks but I will surely do one soon :)

9. Oriflame Clickit Eye Liner Duo in Brown and Black: The moment I came across
this concept, I was hooked. It is a dual ended stick, with black eye liner at one end
and a brown one on the other. The highlight of the product is the applicator brush,
which is thin and sturdy and makes making precise lines a breeze. The liquids are
smudge proof but not waterproof and have very intense pigmentation. I have not
reviewed this product on my blog.

10. Oriflame Clickit Lip Gloss/Stain Duo:  Red stain and Raspberry gloss
This again is in the dual ended stick form with a red lip stain on one end and a pink
Raspberry gloss on the other :) It's a very convenient combo and I especially love the
red stain. It is an orange based red that smells and tastes yummy sweet. The stain
stays on for quite sometime and I do plan on reviewing it

REVIEW & LOTD: Colorbar Blush in Plum Brown

Faces and Colorbar are my favorite brands off late and hence it becomes my "duty" to try out most of their products and review them for you guys.. See how much I love you people :) LOL... My latest obsession and favorite is the Colorbar Blush in Plum Brown and if I need to describe it in one word I would say "HG material". Ok that's two!
I have honestly been pretty wary of blushes especially since they need a lot of practice to master and well I just don't like the idea of being the clown of the party :D But out of the lot of 6 blushes that I own I must say that this is my favorite powder blush and NYX's Golden is my favorite creme blush. Yup I'll be reviewing that soon too :) So anyways coming back to the subject of today's review, let me put it in a sentence that this blush is definitely my HG blush and I would be lying if I dont accede to the fact that this is the only powder blush that I use nowadays :D
Colorbar has yet again outdone itself with this product and I am all the more sure of my current favorite choice :)

With mirror and a brush
LOTD
Oooohsss and Aaahhhhss!
1. A very flattering shade for everyone with a medium or say Indian skin tone :)
2. The product is very finely milled and extremely smooth and convenient to apply.
3. Does not cause any reactions, allergies or breakouts!
4. It comes in the signature Colorbar packaging that consists of two compartments and a mirror. The top compartment contains the product and the lower compartment has the brush and the mirror. I love this packaging :D
5. Surprisingly, the tiny brush that comes with the blush isn't actually useless... It is pretty decent and well can come in handy especially if you are on the go and dont want to carry a proper blush brush :D Yay for that!
6. I have extremely dry skin and this does not dry me out much maybe because I moisturize like crazy. Not that it wont suit oily skinned girls cause I have read rave reviews about this product from oily skinned beauties as well :)
7. Very comfortable to the pocket.
Ouches!
1.  Very limited shades in this range :(
2. Colorbar plans to increase the prices of its products from next month!
Price
It costs INR 250/-
Repurchase?
Yes definitely! It is my HG blush like I said before :)
Would I recommend it?
Oh you bet! I am recommending it to everyone and keeping it as a part of my giveaway that will be coming up soon :)

LOTD & Tutorial: Soft Peach and Pink Smokey Look

Yoohoo.. It's been so long since I did a tutorial and well to think about it, there was a time when I so enjoyed putting up my random LOTDs and titorials. But now being wrapped up with product reviews (well yes I have been a hoarder!) I totally forgot about doing some of my favorite tutes :) Just yesterday someone told me how she hated when beauty bloggers flaunted their superbly done makeups and EOTDs and LOTDs but not give an insight on how to chieve them. Ahem! Well needless to say I was left wondering if she was talking about me! No! I am not claiming that I do just "perfect" make-up but then you guys do get the drift! LOL!
So now I came up with this ridiculously easy LOTD and I am so hoping that you guys try it out and share your results with me. I will be deeply honored :) Honestly!
Here's a sneak peek at what we are gonna be achieving by the end of this tutorial. It's a soft peach and crimson smokey look:
The Look :)
I wanted to do a look with my Coastal Scents 88 Original Palette and well rest as they say is history :) The products that I have used for this look is:
The Products...
Face:
Garnier Body Cocoon Moisturizer
Eyes:
MAC Paint Pot in Painterly (as base) (review here)
Peach (Shade 1) from Coastal Scents 88 Original Palette
Crimson (Shade 2) from Coastal Scents 88 Original Palette
Black (Shade 3) from Coastal Scents 88 Original Palette
Maybelline Lasting Drama Eye Studio Gel Liner in Black (review here)

Maybelline Colossal Volume Mascara

Cheeks:
Colorbar Blush in Plum Brown

Lips:
Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick in HOT HOT HOT (review here)

Now that we are done with listing of the products, here goes the tutorial:
1. First off, prep your eye lids with an eye-shadow base. I used MAC Paint Pot in Painterly
Used MAC Painterly Paint Pot as base...
2. This step is optional. You can buff your lids with loose powder. I haven't done so.
3. Next, I applied shade 1 (peach) all over my lids with a flat eye-shadow brush.
Shade 1: Peach
4. Then applied some shade 2 (crimson) on my crease area and blended with a good fluffy blending brush.
Shade 2: Crimson

5. You could line your eyes now and finish off but I needed it to be a bit more dramatic and so took some shade 3 (black) and blended it in my outer V of my eyes.
6. Next I lined my eyes with Maybelline's Lasting Drama Eye Studio Gel Liner in Black and applied some Maybelline Colossal Volume Mascara.
7. On my lips I applied Colorbar Velvet Matte lipstick in Hot Hot Hot and then kissed a tissue ;)
8. Finally applied some Colorbar Blush in Plum Brown and VOILA I was ready to go :)

You guys do try this out and I would love to receive your looks if you care to share them with me :)
xoxo

REVIEW & LOTD: Colorbar Eye-shadow in Spicy Brown

I have never been in love with brown as much as I am nowadays and I must say that it's all thanks to Colorbar's Eye-shadow in SPICY BROWN that I purchased like a couple of days before :) I have always loved eye popping neons and bright eye-shadows and so it's a huge shocker for me that I actually gravitated towards and finally bought a brown eye-shadow! And since the day I bought it, I have been only wearing this shade everywhere. Will you believe it if I tell you that I have paired this brown shadow with a navy blue ensemble, a black ensemble and a yellow ensemble? Well yeah talk about obsession! :P

Take a look at the LOTD I did with it...
For this look, I have paired Colorbar Spicy Brown with FACES Loose Sparke Dust in Golden. The lipstick that I have on is Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick in HOT HOT HOT (review here) and blush that I have used is Colorbar blush in Plum Brown.
This eye-shadow impressed me with the fact that it is an extremely versatile shade (yes brown can be versatile) and trust me when I say that I have tried EOTDs pairing Spicy Brown with yellow, mossy green, golden, Black (yes black!), Dark Blue and Purple! One just needs to let their imagination run wild :D This eye-shadow comes in a very cute and an innovative packaging. It has two compartments. The top compartment of the pot is where the real product is, the lower compartment contains a teensy mirror and a tiny, bent sponge applicator. This as you all already know is a signature packaging of Colorbar cosmetics. Their blushes also come in similar cases.

Swatches

EOTD

Oooohs and Aaahhhs!
1. The color is warm and pretty and like I said very versatile.
2. The texture is very smooth and application is a breeze.
3. Doesn't have any chunky glitter but a nice sheen/glaze.
4. Very less fall out. Do note that I haven't said negligible ;)
5. Well pigmented. Not much of a difference between using and not using a base under it.
6. Stays on for long and doesn't really budge for at least 8 hours straight.
7. Very comfortable to the pocket ;)
8. Cute packaging.

Ouches!
1. Very limited colors in this range. I mean do they really expect me to be content with only 6 shades?!!!
2. The bent applicator provided with the shadow is pretty useless because of its size and shape!

Price
It costs INR 250/-

Repurchase?
Yeah sure I'd buy the other shades available in the range.

Would I recommend?
Oh yes of course especially to beauties on a budget
