4 Natural Skin Whitening Recipes with Lemon

Hello Beauties,
Today we are going to discuss about four skin lightening recipes with lemon juice those are very natural on our skin. There are several fairness creams, fairness lotions and fairness serums available in the market today. Many claims to be 'fully' herbal and natural too, but do you think they are natural 100%? Not at all. They would be containing some bases and preservatives to prevent them going bad but these 4 lemon DIY recipes I am going to mention in this post are fresh and moreover, they are natural on skin. Rather than saying these as 'skin whitening recipes' I would like to name these lemon DIYs as skin brightening face packs. Because there is nothing specially beautiful in just having a pale skin. Pale or dusky, tan or dark, if you have a clear, glowing and bright skin, that is beautiful! Find below the top three skin lightening ingredients from your home and make your skin glow naturally!

Skin Lightening Properties of Lemon

Believe it or not, citrus extracts contain great natural skin whitening properties. Lemon juice natural bleaches the skin and fastens the process of dark spot fading, thus giving you a fairer and brighter skin. If you find the lemon juice to be over acidic on your skin, go for sweet lime. Find below these 4 quick fairness recipes with lemon juice for different skin types.

Skin Lightening Lemon Face Pack for Normal Skin
Combine a teaspoon of lemon juice with a teaspoon of green gram powder and mix well. Add few drops of rose water to this thick mixture to make a creamy paste. There you're done with your own skin lightening lemon face pack! The green gram powder helps in removing the dead skin cells while the lemon juice work on natural skin lightening. Rose water is added here to calm down the skin.

Skin Lightening Lemon Face Pack for Dry Skin
Using lemon on dry skin is a tricky job. It might dry out your skin more if not used in a proper way with proper base. Combine a teaspoon of olive oil with a teaspoon of honey and put in few drops of fresh lime juice to it. After cleansing your face with a gentle facial clear, apply this thin pack evenly and massage for 2-3 minutes. Then leave on for 10-15 minutes before washing it off. The lemon natural brightens the skin and the olive oil helps in preventing skin's moisture loss. Honey is also an excellent natural ingredient to improve skin complexion.

Skin Lightening Lemon Face Pack for Oily Skin
Take a small bowl and add a teaspoon of fullers earth to it. Now pour 2 teaspoons of rose water diluted lemon juice to the fullers earth (In 2:1 ratio) and blend well to make a smooth paste. This face pack effectively cleanses the skin and removes excessive oil production to give you a fresh, bright and matte skin for a long time!

Skin Whitening Lemon Face Pack for Sensitive Skin
While handling lemon in DIY recipes, we should be more careful to use them on sensitive skin types. Lime juice usage may end up in breakouts if just applied directly on to the skin. Mix 1/2 a teaspoon of glycerin with 1/2 a teaspoon of carrot/apple juice. Now combine this liquid with 3-4 drops of lemon juice and your pure skin lightening lemon face pack for sensitive skin is ready. This face pack is comparatively thin but has a same effects on your skin as the other ones. Just layer it up on your clean face and wash away after 15 minutes.

Tidbit: After using your lemon face pack, moisturization is must in all skin types. Choose one recipe above which suits your skin type. Use these natural DIY skin lightening face packs for at least twice in a week to see visible results faster. These recipes also help in clearing out sun tan and dark patches with regular usage. Exfoliate at Home For Brighter Complexion

Even toned healthy skin is the key to flawless beautiful face. But even world beauties needs some makeup and touch ups to cover their uneven skin. Uneven skin is caused due to improper maintenance, unhealthy diet and mainly because of the hyper pigmentation. Melanin is a pigment that our skin cells contain as the colouring substance, less counting in some areas and concentrated in some areas of the skin. For example, dark people's skin contain more melanin pigments while comparing to the pale ones. It is not that pale people are beautiful than the dark ones. Dark beauties with a flawless glowing skin beats white dull skins. Whatever your skin type may be, it must be clear to be beautiful. Due to some unhealthy practices and the main enemy sun, the skin color differs which causes uneven skin tone and dullness. As skin is the largest organ of our body, it is much exposed to sun, dirt and other pollution. Harmful UV rays damages your skin and increases the uneven melanin production. In this post, let us discuss about some natural exfoliating scrub recipes that can even out skin and brighten your complexion.

Why to Exfoliate?
The first thing you should go for is exfoliation when it comes to getting clear and beautiful skin. Regular exposure to sun, dirt and pollution, improper skin maintenance causes uneven dull skin. A layer of dead cells covers the surface of your skin and makes it look lifeless and dull. Dark or pale, a uneven skin is not beautiful at all. A perfect skin should be smooth, shiny and glowing, not the one covered up with dead cells, scars and bumps. Hence, exfoliation the first step when it comes to beautiful brighter skin. You can use some natural exfoliating scrubs from the kitchen! Yes. your own kitchen. You may or may not realize, but some natural ingredients from your kitchen can remove all your dead cells. I will list you few recipes as per your skin type. Choose wisely and say goodbye to those dead cells.

Exfoliating Scrub Recipes from your Kitchen

For Oily Skin
  1. Rice flour mixed with butter milk can act as an excellent facial exfoliating scrub. This removes all the dead skin cells, as well as the extra oiliness. Mix both to form a cream, apply it over your facial skin and scrub gently with your finger tips. After 3-4 minutes, wash off your face with clean and cold water. Pat dry.
  2. You can also replace grounded oats for the rice powder. Add some diluted lime juice and butter milk to the oats. Blend well. A quick 2 minute scrub is ready now!
  3. Take 2 teaspoons of orange peel powder, mix rosewater to make a paste. Workout on your face with your finger tips scrubbing gently. Splash fresh water and wash off. This scrub not only removes the dead skin cells but also improves the complexion.
For Dry Skin
Unlike the oily skin types, dry skins should be exfoliated in a very gentle way. Dry skins are easily prone to loose excess moisture and so, no moisture removing exfoliating scrubs should be used on your skin.
  1. Almond should be grounded, not to a thin paste, the mixture should be granulated for the exfoliating effect. With this almond granules mix some milk cream and start scrubbing your cleansed face. After 5 minutes, wash off your face with cold water and moisturize.
  2. Grounded oats mixed with honey and olive oil can also be used as an excellent dry skin exfoliater.
  3. Khus Khus is an excellent source of Vitamin E, a skin friendly vitamin. Mix this with honey and rose water to prepare your exfoliating scrub in seconds. This can be used in alternate days to achieve even and brighter skin tone.
Normal to Oily and Normal to Dry skins should make some adjustments in these scrubbing recipes. As you observe, ingredients like milk, honey and oils are for dry skin types and the rice flour, lime juice are for oily skinned beauties. For exfoliating the body skin, get the loofah! So adjust your exfoliating scrub recipes and use it to get that parlour effect! A clean and clear skin is totally yours if you take a resolution to scrub gently twice every week.

How to Get Glowing Complexion In Few Weeks? {A Super Trick}

  1. How to improve my complexion?
  2. How can I improve my skin tone?
  3. I am dark. What should I do to make my skin fair?
  4. Please give some fairness tips. I am so dull.
  5. How to get rid of dark patches?

These are the main questions my readers ask me everyday. :P Everyone want to be fair usually Isn't it? What does fair means? The meaning of fair is GOOD, so it is not a word to describe pale skin in my point of view. The skin types should be mentioned as light, wheatish, dusky and dark. These are all birth complexions, no one can change their genes. You need to get fair? Please do know many white people are craving to be dusky and they are tanning themselves. I am not saying that only dark people are beautiful, everyone is beautiful depending upon the health, texture and tone of their skin, not colour for sure.
I have seen many people who are white, but have a bad skin with dullness, marks and roughness. Many chocolaty people have great skins. So please forget about the myth "White is beautiful" A clean, clear and healthy skin is beautiful whether it is white or dark. Don't go behind the fairness myth and spoil your skin with chemicals. Don't use bleaches or other harmful whitening products to change your god gifted birth colour.
Now, I will teach you how I improved my skin. I did not get paler than before, but my skin became smooth, even toned, bright and softer than before. Being born as a pale skinned baby, I was wheatish till my 5th std. When I joined 6th, I got into athletics and tanned my skin for past 7 years. I am an athlete and I have no choice to bother about my skin colour. I got very dark and dull skin, hence worried about it a lot :( Then I followed a simple trick to improve my tanned skin. I am dusky now and fell in love with my dusky skin and this is the main reason for me being a skincare-addict. I love dusky shades more than paler ones, it depends on your interest that which colour you like. But never forget, Pale or dark, soft and healthy skin is beautiful anytime!

Now tell me tell you the trick.. It is Exfoliation!
Yes, for sure. Our skin needs to be exfoliated at least twice in a week in a gentle way to get rid of the dead skin cells which deposits in the outer layer of our skin due to pollution and other allergies. This makes skin look patchy, dull and unhealthy if not exfoliated and scrubbed properly. I am always afraid of chemical scrubs hence I went for a natural one, It is Loofah!! Nothing to fear with it. It's just like a scrub pad.

If you never knew what loofah is, look at this

Where to buy: You can get natural loofah at your nearest herbal shop or even you can get ready made loofah pads from online shopping websites or departmental stores.

Price: I got mine for just Rs.15 (he he.. It's dirt cheap)

Trick to Get Super Soft and Glowing Complexion
It's a simple procedure with Loofah to achieve smooth soft and glowing skin!
Just soak loofah in warm water for about 10 minutes to soften them and sqeeze. While bathing, rub loofah in your soap or pour some body wash, work lather on your body skin giving gentle circular motions in body skin and greater pressure in rougher parts like knees and elbows. After exfoliating properly, wash off with plenty of fresh water. That's it. This should be done once in 3 days or 2 days if your skin is non sensitive and dry, and once in a week if you have dry skin.
This process will remove dead skin cells up to an extent to clear out your skin and thus you get super complexion in few weeks! Try it out for sure.

Note: Exfoliating gives awesome results but you should never ever forget to moisturize your skin with a nourishing lotion after exfoliating as your skin would have lost extra moisture.
