FRAGRANCE REVIEW: Playboy Play It Spicy

Yoohoo everyone :) Today starts a new week of hopes and aspirations and with the previous week ending so brilliantly (India winning over Pak in cricket of course!), this week promises to bring in more excitement and hopefully revelry (only if India meets Pak in the finals and then we win again :P). Also personally my past week ended really well cause you all liked my black smokey eyes tutorial and I myself got a sense of satisfaction after seeing the YT video :) So all in all a fulfilling week :)

This week needs me to really tie up laces, pull my pants up and do the following chores...
1. Send my giveaway prizes to Megha and Bidisha (I know I am so irresponsible and Lazy) :(
2. Send my 2999th prize to Parita (ok stop raising your eye brows)
3. Get myself a hair cut. Holi screwed my hair and I am planning to get my hair cut real short.
4. And of course do loads and loads of video tutes and other reader requests.

And I am starting with Nimisha's request for reviewing the Playboy Play It Spicy perfume. She had asked me for a review of it when I had initially bought it from Purplle.com and I like a very bad person totally forgot about it :( She then reminded me yet again and this time I am sticking to my promise :)

I honestly bought this perfume on a whim. I was short of cash but I still wanted to get myself a new fragrance and hence while going through purplle.com's website, when I chanced over the Playboy "PlayIt" series and the bottles looked so cute, I knew I had got myself a budget buy :) Playboy has three fragrances in its "Play It" range, Play It Lovely, Play It Sexy and Play It Spicy. I expected one to be fresh citrusy, one to be sweet floral and one to be musky. I wanted the musky one and so I took my chances and ordered for Spicy, which I fervently wished to be musky and spicy ;) And lo behold the fragrance was all  wanted it to be excepting a single quirk :)

Play It Spicy has a very Oriental kind of smell, which is warm and enticing. A very close dupe would be Oriflame's Fire EDP. Both these fragrances smell very similar to each other only difference lies in the longevity of the perfumes. The Oriflame one stays on for like ever, on the other hand the Playboy one fades away after about 4 hours.

The spicy fragrances is warm and subtle, not the "in the face" kinds that tells people of your arrival much before you enter the room. Yes it isn't potent like that. It on the other hand has a classy, sophisticated fragrance to it that tends to fade away pretty soon :( Wish it stayed on for longer...

Price
Rs.499/- for 30 ml
Rs. 695/- for 75 ml

Would I Recommend?
If you like these subtle fragrances and if you cannot get your hands on Oriflame's Fire EDP then you could go for this :) Also, if you like cute bottles on your dresses then you could go for this. It isn't expensive and so trying it out once is ok :)

Repurchase?
Since my local beautician is an Oriflame agent, I have very easy access to Oriflame's Fire, so I guess I'll stick to that and gives this a break :)

REVIEW: The Body Shop Love Etc... Solid Perfume

I am not a fan of "heart shaped" anything.. Pendants, earrings, pillows, balloons.. No missy they are not for me :) But I got myself a heart shaped solid perfume and so you ask why? It's because I love small and tiny "dibbis" (containers) and the little tiny dibbi that the solid perfume came in totally won over the repelling heart shape it had... Though I must say that a fragrance called "Love Etc" would obviously come in a heart shaped container now wouldn't it? Its only natural. So ladies and gentlemen, without much ado let me introduce you all to The Body Shop Solid Perfume called Love Etc... Romantic? Yeah obviously... Cute and Pretty? Oh you bet! :D

As you can see in the images below, the solid perfume comes in this cute heart shaped PINK tin container with a white lid. It is the most convenient perfume to carry in your purses (obviously) and its mild floral and feminine Vanilla + Jasmine notes makes it an instant favorite. It has a sweet fragrance, which is the same as its liquid counterpart also known as Love Etc. But the solid one is a tad lighter and milder, which I like :)

I generally dab it on pulse points i.e. behind my ears, on my wrists and my cl*av*ge and I can keep smelling it almost for 6 hours at a stretch! I did have to "touch-up" after 6 hours but when this tiny dibbi is in your purse, trust me "touching up" is as discreet as possible :)

Image of the Product

Ooohhsss And Aaahhhss!!
1. It has a mild, floral and a feminine fragrance.
2. Comes in a cute container
3. Very convenient to carry along in a purse.
4. The fragrance stays on for pretty long for a solid perfume. It stays on for about 6 hours on me.
5. After it dries off, it does not cause irritation or rashes.
6. TBS does not test on animals :D
7. The product is ok for 24 months after opening. Hence you have a lot of time to finish it :)

Ouches!!
1. You need to dig in your fingers into the tub. Some may find it unhygienic especially if you are sharing.
2. It is not available online.

Price
I do not remember the price :( The moment I find it out, I'll update this space :)

Repurchase?
Yes I think I will unless I find another solid perfume that has me all tizzy *hoping to God that Green Tea by EA starts coming in a solid form*

Would I Recommend?
Oh yes! It has a very soothing fragrance. Very feminine and if you are a sucker for cute containers like then its a must have for you :)
Do note that beauties who prefer stronger fragrances or even fruity fragrances may give it a pass :)

Overall Rating
8.5/10

So you think you'd try this out?

REVIEW: TRUE RED edt by Marks and Spencer...

My first ever purchase from a Marks and Spencer store was True Red and a red satin clutch and I have regretted neither :) I had ventured into Marks and Spencer looking to find a signature scent for myself and I found True Red.
True Red by Marks and Spencer is a chypre floral fragrance for women. Top notes are orange and pineapple; middle notes are sage and jasmine; base notes are patchouli and musk. Description: Courtesy http://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Marks-and-Spencer/True-Red-3418.html
What I personally think of True Red? Well for starters the moment I took the first whiff of the tester, I was mesmerized! My mood perked up suddenly and I knew I had found what I was looking for. I first purchased it's 50ml bottle for Rs.450/- and have just been using it ever since.A lot of blog sites have described it to be a floral fragrance, but personally I have found it to be more fruity than floral. The smell of Pineapple and Orange engulfs me and keeps me smelling yummy all through my eight hours at work. But let me tell you, there is nothing subtle about it ;) It guarantees attention with its sensual and racy notes and keeps you feeling confident and powerful all day long. The fragrance as well as the contents is long lasting. A 50ml bottle keeps me busy for about 2 months, and mind you I use it extremely liberally :D The fragrance does start losing its potency (lolz) by the end of the day.
POSITIVES

1. Yummy smell

2. Long lasting fragrance

3. Attractive bottle

4. Extremely feminine

NEGATIVES

1. The fragrance starts fading by the end of 5-6 hours

2. Could be overpowering for a few people with allergies to perfumes and strong scents

Do Note that the smell is NOT SUBTLE but pretty strong and empowering
Will I use it more? I use it every day and intend doing so for a very long time :)
