Top Five DIY Beauty Fixes at Home

Everyone has their own 'beauty fixes'. We do follow some practices when we run out of our favorite skincare/makeup product. Most of them are common among everyone and some have always been 'secrets'. We are going check five common and more beneficial beauty fixes that many of the women swear around the world! Some of them might be natural, some budget-friendly, some quick and overall, beauty fixes are beneficial to every women out there. Beauty Fix 1:
No Pimples Anymore
Mix together the Neem leaves and Tulsi leaves (basil). Paste them and apply this paste over your pimple affected skin before going to bed at night. Wash off face with cold clean water in the morning. Do this for 3 days to see the 'pimple free' face magic


Beauty Fix 2:
Out of your Toner?
It is not a very big worry if you ran out of your toner. Get some rose water, refrigerate it and use as your natural skin toner. Rose water cleanses out the leftover residues and softens skin with a nice cooling effect.

Beauty Fix 3:
Quick Nourishing Lip Balm
Ran out of your regular lip balm? Leave your worry. Get yourself a small box of Vaseline. Melt it in a double boiler and add 2-3 drops of Vitamin E oil [Extracted from the capsules] to it. Allow the mixture to cool down and your lip balm is ready to use now! Vaseline and vitamin E are two great sources of moisturizes. If you need some fragrance, add any of your favorite essential oil to this lip balm. Need some tint? Beetroot is there. Pour 2 drops of raw and thick beetroot juice to it. That's it, you're all done with your homemade lip balm.

Beauty Fix 4:
Skin Brightness in a Week?
Soak poppy seeds [Khus Khus] in water for 7-8 hours or overnight. Drain them and paste them to creamy paste. Mix two teaspoons of this paste with one teaspoon of fresh cream and blend together. After cleansing your facial skin, apply this smooth cream all over your face and neck. Gently massage for 10-15 minutes in upward motion and leave on for 10 minutes or until it is dry. Wash off with fresh cold water.

Beauty Fix 5:
All-in-one Overnight Face Pack
Get some fresh green fenugreek leaves and paste them until smooth. Use this paste as a face pack before going to bed every night. This removes pimples, blackheads, wrinkles and improves the skin complexion with regular usage. If you have dry skin type, add few drops olive oil to this face pack to prevent tightening of skin. You can see visible results within 10 days of usage.

My View about this Lipstick

The lipstick comes in a very classy black metalic case which is firm and travel friendly. The colour is somewhat pink mixed with peach, has a sheen but it faces quickly giving a super matte effect. The fragrance is not at all over powering, it is mild and even sensitive noses will okay for it. The first time I used this lipstick, I got really impressed about how it spreads. It spreads smooth ans silky like a butter on my lips without any hardness. Soon after application, it covers imperfections greatly and goes opaque as it is highly pigmented. Staying power of this lipstick is also in a safer side. It stays for about 4 hours and fades eventually after that leaving a lovely pink stain. I just expected a little more staying power but this is perfectly okay because the texture is so creamy and smooth. There are many shades available in this range for you to choose one for your skin type. This is one of the best lipstick for dry lips and I recommend it highly to everyone who want a highly pigmented, long staying and cutely packed lipstick.

• Shows a sheen at first but it disappears and give a perfect matte effect.
• Many number of shades available. 
• Staying power is pretty good. It leaves a lovely pink stain behind.
• The case of the lipstick looks really very classy. No one can say no for this.
• Fragrance is mild and bearable.
• Sturdy packaging and hence easy to carry around.
• Highly pigmented. It covers the imperfections and uneven tones.
• Goes opaque with single swipe. The lipstick is shiny too.
• Smooth and silky finish as per the claim.

CONS

I just expected a little more staying power (Greedy me ) :P

Overall Rating: 4.5/5

My Recommendation: If you are looking out for a highly pigmented, creamy but yet matte lipstick go for it. You will surely love this lipstick for it's shade too. The would shade perfectly suits all skin types I guess. A great buy for dry lips.

Will I repurchase?: Yes! But other shades from this range. A single lipstick will last longer.

I am a great Cocoa butter lover and hence I always pick the products which has the "Coco Butter" ingredient in it, no matter how it works, I don't even read reviews before getting one. And today, I am reviewing a product, sure a "Cocoa Butter" product from Himalaya Herbals which has almost  become my winter HG product. It's a lip butter meant for moisturizing lips. I have been using this past few days and here comes my review and experience with pros and cons. Go ahead!

The Packaging

The lip butter comes in a small transparent tub with a green top cap and inner white lid. "Oh tub, you are not so hygienic" , this I what I felt but I just convinced myself as it is sturdily packed with an inner lid to prevent some mess. It would be so much better if this product comes in tube instead of tub. The cap of the tub is firm and hence the pack becomes travel friendly too. A perfect small and cute tub for everyday use and travel use too (Though I expect tube packing)

Colour, Consistency and Fragrance

The lip butter is very rich, smooth, thick and has a real buttery texture. It is transparent and shows no tint, so colorless lip balms/butter lovers will enjoy it. Even though the consistency is pretty thick, it is very easy to take it out and apply over your lips. It glides smoothly and spreads well without any trouble. To say about the fragrance in single word, It's my "Cocoa Butter" Yes! lovely Cocoa butter flavor and fragrance it has! I love smelling it all the time as it is very tempting. No one can find anything bad in it's fragrance even sensitive noses and hence I would name this as one of the best smelling lip butter!

How it Works On Me

Well..I am using this product for past few days. I do apply it over my lips once in the morning and once at night. This product budges a little while food/drink intake but still it doesn't leave my lips dry or chapped. The lip butter is quite thick but still glides onto my lips smoothly with a fresh cocoa butter fragrance. The fragrance lasts for a decent time and the lip butter stays all day long if you have normal lips. It keep my lips soft, supple all day long with a single application in the morning, I reapply once at night before going to bed. You should apply this twice a day if you have extremely chapped lips and it's not the one which you can use it under your lipstick, because it makes your lipstick bleed due to its thickness. As this made my lips soft and supple, I prefer to use this product in all the seasons, especially in winters. This is going to my winter HG list!! :)

PROS

1. Rich buttery texture which glides onto lips smoothly
2. A very little amount is enough for every application, hence lasts longer.
3. Free from petroleum jelly, silicon, artificial colours & preservatives. It is made of natural ingredients and hence, a great boon to all who hate waxy petroleum balms on their lips.
4. It make lips soft, supple, smooth and somewhat cures my fine lip wrinkles. 
5. Even after budging due to food intake, my lips feel soft. It never leaves dryness at all.
6. Easily available everywhere!! It's Himalaya herbals :P 
7. The rich fragrance of Cocoa butter.. yummy :P 
8. A great pick for dry lips in all the seasons. 

 CONS

1. My tub packaging :( (Would be better if it comes in tube) 
2. Not suitable to use along with your lipstick, it does bleeds (This can't be taken as a con for the worthy other benefits of this lip butter though)
