Himalaya Herbals Oil Control Lemon Face Wash Review

Himalaya Herbals Oil Control Lemon Face Wash Review

Summer has disappeared, but still the climate here is really irregular and hot. I guess that this year, we, people in South India are cursed with bad weather conditions. The weather is completely unguessable. One day it is hot; one day it is cold and another day it is gloomy. Oily skinned people struggle throughout the year to control oiliness from their skin and especially they find it hard mainly due to such irregular climatic conditions.
My skin is not completely oily, but normal to oily skin which turns super oily in summers and monsoons; normal in winters and autumn. Currently, my skin is acting oily most of the times with greasiness and rare breakouts on my forehead area. So, when I eyed out for a good face wash that balances oil on my facial skin, I found this Himalaya Herbals Oil Control Lemon Face Wash. I guess this is a newly launched one as I don't find any updates for this on the company's main website. Most of the Himalaya Herbals products worked pretty gentle on my skin and hence I gave this face wash a try. My wish was to get a face wash which balances oil, keep my skin oil free and at the same time 'not dry' and so ended up in trying this. Let us check now whether it worked on my skin or not. Go, read the complete review below.

Himalaya Herbals Oil Control Lemon Face Wash Review

Product Description:
A soap-free, herbal formulation that gently cleanses your face and removes excess oil. Oil Control Lemon Face Wash is enriched with Lemon, an astringent and cooling agent, and Honey, which has natural, deep-cleansing properties. Unlike soap, your face will not feel dry and stretched. Use regularly for clean, fresh and glowing skin.

Price & Quantity:
Rs.70 for 100ml

Usage Directions:
Moisten face and neck; apply a small amount of Oil Control Lemon Face Wash and gently work up a lather using a circular motion. Wash off and pat dry, Use twice daily. Follow with Himalaya Nourishing Face Moisturizing Lotion. Use Himalaya Clarifying Mud Pack once a week to rejuvenate and revitalize your skin.

Key Ingredients:
Honey and Bijapura (Citrus Medica)

My Experience with this Product:

Packaging
This face wash is packed in a see through plastic tube with a flip type cap. The cap is good and sturdy; the whole packaging looks simple and nothing to find bad in it. You can actually see how much is left inside the tube. But wait.. When I purchased my second tube, unluckily it had the worst flip cap. The cap was flimsy and it leaked like anything when I carried it in my bag. I am not sure whether it is a single product mistake or something but Himalaya Herbals need to concentrate on their packaging more.

Himalaya Herbals Oil Control Lemon Face Wash Review - Packaging

Colour, Consistency & Fragrance
This is a normal to runny, transparent face wash with tiny blue micro beads (Or granules?) present in it. The consistency looks fresh and cute due to the blue granules which are meant for exfoliation. The fragrance is really fresh and lemon-like; Yes! I do mean that this face wash has a citrus-y fragrance.

Himalaya Herbals Oil Control Lemon Face Wash Review - Swatch

How it works
I had no much expectations from this averagely priced face wash but just wanted it to clear the extra oiliness from my skin. Soon after applying it over my wet facial skin, I could feel the granules doing their gentle scrubbing work on my skin. The blue beads exfoliate my skin very gently making the face wash suitable for everyday usage.
The fresh citrus fragrance refreshed me like anything.  To say about the the lathering part, Well hmm this face wash lathers averagely and washes off well without leaving any slippery feel on my skin. I cannot say that it would get washed away with a single splash of water but with 2-3 splashes, my face is left squeaky clean. The best part about this face wash is that it did not dry out my skin at all unlike few other oil clearing/mattifying face washes. Overall, this face wash clears out all the excess oiliness from the facial skin leaving it soft, clean and smooth without drying it excessively.

PROS
  • A huge hit for citrus and refreshing fragrance lovers!
  • Acts as an exfoliating face wash with its tiny blue granules
  • The gentleness of the face wash (Read exfoliating granules) makes it suitable for everyday usage
  • Clears all the oiliness from the skin and leaves skin soft and smooth
  • Doesn't leave skin stretchy or dry unlike few other oil clearing products
  • Washes out without leaving any slippery feel behind
  • Safe to use on sensitive-oily skin types
  • Comes in a very affordable price

CONS

  • In some packs, cap is flimsy; hence the product is not that suitable for travel usage.
  • This face wash acts as an oil clearing face wash and not the oil 'control' one but that can't be taken as a con because they have already mentioned in the pack that it is an oil balancing one. This would help you get rid of oiliness from your skin and leave your skin completely oil free but after 2-3 your T Zone will show some shine if you  have extra oily skin. Hence this is not an oil 'control' face wash. Are you clear?

Rating: 4/5

Recommendation:
If you are oily skinned, if you are in search of a mild exfoliating face wash for daily usage, if you are a citrus fragrance lover, get one for sure. This face wash would suit also normal skin types the best in summers.

Would I Repurchase?:
Sure! I have already purchased it twice. I am in love with this face wash mainly for its gentleness and the refreshing citrus fragrance. The price is also easy on the pocket. Who won't say no?

Have you ever used Himalaya Herbals Oil Control Lemon Face Wash? Do you like it?

Himalaya Herbals Hydrating Face Wash Cream Review

Face cleansers take an important place in our daily skincare regimen. Today, I am reviewing the Hydrating Cream Face Wash from Himalaya herbals brand. Previously I reviewed other products and this is the second last one left form Himalaya Herbals in my case. I have been using the fairness face pack too for a long time, the last one and I may be reviewing it some other time. I will be purchasing few more products from Himalaya (Yippee) and you can expect many more reviews from my favorite brand. Now lets move on to the product description and review.
Product Description: A soap free herbal formulation that gently cleanses and moisturizes. Unlike soap, it will not leave your face feeling dry and stretched. Cucumber cools and soothes, and Aloe vera tones and softens your skin. Use regularly for clean, fresh and glowing skin.

Himalaya Herbals Hydrating Face Wash

Himalaya Herbals Hydrating Face Wash Cream

Price: Rs.40 for 50 ml; Rs.70 for 100ml

Shelf life: 2 years approx.

Ingredient List
Each gm contains: Trapusha (Cucumis sativus) 100mg, Processed in Kumari (Aloe barbadensis), Amalaki (Ambilika officinalis), Karchura (Curcuma zedoaria).
Inactives: Phenoxyethanol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate.
Colour: Ponceau SX

My Experience with this Product
I have been using this face wash cream for almost two months and I have a lot to say about it. It comes in a sturdy tube like every other Himalaya Herbals products come and is quite travel friendly. The packaging itself is simple and cute. Every squeeze is in your control too and hence overall, goodly packed.

Himalaya Herbals Hydrating Face Wash Cream

The consistency is some what in between thick and runny, it has a normal creamy texture. I have no complaints about the consistency part and the cream is milky white in colour too. Isn't that cute? While coming to the fragrance part, its a bit okay-sh to be honest. The fragrance is not super sweet, floral or fruity. It has a kinda herbal with talc mixed smell which might be uncomfortable for sensitive noses. But don't imagine any bad, it is gentle, nothing harsh  or overpowering.

Himalaya Herbals Hydrating Face Wash Cream

When I first used this face wash, I was disappointed because of the lathering part. Gosh! It doesn't lather at all. A big squeeze gives a very little lather but then I realized it is a face wash "Cream". Doesn't it? Why should we run behind the myth that only lathering products cleanse? It is somewhat like a cleansing milk come cream that cleanses skin without leaving it dry. My skin felt instantly clean, smooth and I would say that it is perfect for everyday wash. Normal to dry and dry skinned people will love it as it doesn't stretch skin by striping off excess moisture. About removing makeup, I am not sure. You may need to go for some other to cleanse heavy makeup. I have no complaints about this face wash as it does almost what it claims. It cleanses well, softens and doesn't dry out skin. Give a try for sure, it comes in a dirt cheap price too!

PROS
  1. Leaves skin smooth, soft and clean.
  2. Doesn't dry out skin. Retains moisture but not to the extent of skipping your moisturizer.
  3. Perfect every day face wash for normal and dry skin types.
  4. Comes in a dirt cheap price. Easy available too.
  5. Milk like creamy consistency spreads smoothly over face and gets washed off easily.
  6. No side effects such as breakouts and such.
  7. Travel friendly.
  8. Contains natural ingredients like Aloe and cucumber.

CONS
  1. If you are looking for a lathering face wash, then this wont be your pick. Remember, this cannot be taken as a con because this is a face wash "Cream" (They clearly stated)
  2. Contain parabens. Every other product do so, nowadays.
  3. The fragrance can be improved.

Overall Rating: 4.5/5

My Recommendation: I highly recommend this face wash cream to dry and normal to dry skin types. It cleanses and softens well even without lathering. Comes in an affordable price too, so give a try!

Will I Repurchase?: Of course I will. Being an oily skinned person, I somehow love this too, because of the softening effect.

My Views and Ratings

The Packaging
This body lotion comes in a white plastic bottle with a sturdy green cap. The packaging is simple, but yet cute and I love it. Because of the firmness, it is travel friendly too. And an another advantage is that, this is not a use and throw bottle. I am planning to save these empty containers and fill my homemade creams :P Love the packaging overall.
4.9/5

Colour, Consistency & Texture
The lotion has a very creamy consistency, slightly runny, smooth and perfect for a gentle body lotion. To say an example, the texture is like that of melted vanilla ice cream :D The lotion quickly spreads onto my skin and gets absorbed. Fragrance is very mild and gentle and it has a herbal tint, still I expect some fruity or sweet smell in it (Greedy me, he he) :P No bad I find.
4.5/5

How it Works
As I said before, this is my HG lotion because it works perfectly on my oily skin in this humid weathers in Chennai. It is very hot and sweating here, so whenever I use this lotion on my skin I feels light and refreshed instead of being greasy or sticky. I agree that this lotion doesn't suit for dry skins anytime, but that cant be taken as a con at all as they didn't claim it. This is a normal skin body lotion and it does a decent job in summer for both normals and oilies. Dry skins should stay away because this won't help you and normal skins should also opt for some other nourishing ones in winters. Being a normal to oily skinned person, this just works great on me. My skin feels soft with regular usage and I use it allover my body everyday after bath. In hard winters, I needed to go for some other lotion or else apply this once in every 3 hours which ends up wasting my pocket money :P So, listen Himalaya nourishing body lotion, you are my very best friend in summers! Love you!
4.5/5

PROS
  1. Sturdy Packaging and hence travel friendly.
  2. Affordable and easily available everywhere.
  3. A fresh refreshing herbal fragrance, not so over powering at all.
  4. Spreads quickly onto my skin without leaving any greasiness.
  5. Contains natural ingredients like alovera, apricot etc which are the best skin friends.
  6. This would be a treat for oily skins in humid weathers.
  7. Non sticky and side effect free. A little amount covers vast area of the skin, hence lasts long.
  8. Skin becomes soft with regular usage.
  9. Re-usable sturdy container.
CONS
  1. No a winter pick for normal skin types, but it leads others in summers.
  2. Contain parabens (Every other product do so nowadays)
My Recommendation: Oily and normal skin types can try this in summers, one of the best and natural body lotion! I highly recommend. Dry skins please stay away

Overall Rating: 4/5 (-1 for your winter weakness, not enough moisturizing for normal skin types)

Will I Repurchase?: I said it's in my HG list. Won't I???? This will be my all time summer pick until I find a better one.

Today I am reviewing the Himalaya Herbals Footcare cream which I have been using for past 3 weeks. I never took foot care that much important in my skincare routine as I get no cracks or tightness on my foot skin. Soft and Supple feet in 3 DAYS

Deep Moisturising | Non-greasy | Daily Care
Effective relief from dry, cracked heels and rough feet. Deep moisture for soft and smooth feet. Your feet take about 8000 steps everyday. The pressure exerted on your feet often exceeds your body weight. Also, about half a litre of moisture is lost through your feet every day, causing extreme dryness, loss of elasticity and damage to your skin. Yet, your feet remain the most neglected part of your body. Moisturising your feet regularly can help prevent these problems, keeping them soft and smooth. Himalaya FootCare Cream is an unique, daily-use, natural formulation that heals and softens excessively dry and rough feet, preventing cracks and helping protect feet from microbial infections. The gentle, yet effective combination of natural moisturisers provides an unique three-way deep moisturising effect, making your skin soft, increasing the natural moisture content and keeping your feet moisurized even during extensive exposure to the elements. Sal Tree extract has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Turmeric and Honey provide antiseptic and germicidal action, and Feenugreek helps heal cracks and relieve inflammation.
Use daily for soft, smooth, healthy feet.

My Views and Ratings

The Packaging
Thank god it's not tub (Unhygienic). The product comes in a white with orange coloured tube, wrapped with a paper box which looks cute with a foot shaped card. The tube looks very simple, yet sturdy with a green coloured screw cap like every other Himalaya Herbals products come. I can easily carry it around as there is nothing to fear about leaking or something else. Overall, the packaging is not that cute, but simple, perfect and best for usage.
4.5/5

Colour, Consistency & Fragrance
This foot cream is thick, beige in color and smooth in texture. Though the consistency is thick, the cream spreads quickly onto the skin without leaving any greasy feel or whitish cast. The fragrance is little herbal + little floral mixed, also had a slight powdery smell. For a foot cream, the smell is not that overpowering. It's good and bearable still I wash my hands after using this cream.
4/5

The cream on my feet

Rubbed twice (The Swatch)

Gets absorbed easily without any greasiness

How it works on Me
I am blessed with no cracks on my heels and hence I asked my mom to try this cream too. First, let us see how it worked on me. The cream instantly made my feet smooth, soft without any greasy feel and my feet felt soft for 5 yours, then I had to reapply. It vanished fine lines on my feet and what a magic! It cured the wound that i got because of my new slippers. And yes! I saw a great difference on my feet within 3 days. It improved the texture of my feet overall. So what my mom said is that her heel cracks very controlled and prevented within a week of usage and she also felt a slight change over the cracks. Overall, I guess this would be everyone's summer pick, sweaty feet may feel it best in winters. Decently priced, simple yet good packaging and for all the above reasons such as no greasiness I love this product. It also comes in a bigger pack of 50g, but I am not sure about the prize. The product does what it claims! (That too very naturally) :D
4.9/5

PROS
  1. Non sticky, Non greasy texture
  2. Spreads easily.
  3. Comes in a dirt cheap rate for this much worth.
  4. Easily available everywhere, you can even get one from your nearest Pharmacy.
  5. Simple, yet sturdy packaging. Travel friendly.
  6. Contains natural ingredients such as Sal, Fenugreek and turmeric which are very good for skin.
  7. Great for usage as an after pedicure foot moisturizer.
  8. Prevented nail breakage up to an extent.
  9. The fragrance is not that over powering. Decent for a foot cream.
  10. A great difference in foot texture is seen within 3 days, so the claims are true.
CONS
  1. This cannot be taken as a con, but I felt a little more moisturizing effect will make this a best foot cream for winters too.
  2. Contain parabens :( (Every other product do so nowadays)
My Recommendation: A great pick for everyone, The best pick for sweaty feet as this is non greasy and I am not sure above extremely dry and cracked heels, give a try though!

Overall Rating: 4.5/5

Will I Purchase?: No doubt! Yes I will.

Himalaya Herbals Fairness Cream Review

Hi girls! This week or so we have been seeing few reviews of Himalaya Herbals products such as the foot cream, lip butter and kajal etc. Today I am reviewing the fairness cream from this brand. Fairness? It's not a crave for me, but bright and glowing skin? Yes I love it! Who doesn't like their skin to be radiant. So, I gave this product a try to check whether it's making my skin bright, clear spots or something else like that. Using this cream for more than a year, I have a lot to say about it. Now let us see a detailed review on what it does and what it doesn't.

Himalaya Herbals Fairness Cream

(It also comes in a small pack of Rs.30 approx, I am not sure about the quantity)

Shelf Life: 3 yrs

My Views and Ratings

The Packaging
Do you want me to say? It comes in a tube like every other Himalaya herbals cream come. The acne cream, foot cream and bla bla bla. The tube is in white with rose mixed colour, with a green screw type cap. The tube is so simple in looks but it's a TUBE. Isn't that enough for me? Wow It's my favorite!! Because it is hygienic than silly tubs :D Perfect for squeezing with control! Perfect for traveling!. Hey wait, I forgot to mention a thing. The cream tube is compactly placed inside a rectangle cardboard box. No bad I see in it's packaging.
4.9/5 (Expecting some cute packaging from Himalaya Herbals)

Colour, Consistency and Fragrance
The cream is neither too thick nor runny, but its very light as like in between a lotion and cream's consistency. The cream being white coloured has a very light peach tint on it and also a shiny, silky texture. To say about the fragrance, it is unexplainable, the fragrance is a kinda floral + herbal, may be a little heavy for sensitive noses but after applied onto the skin, it gets mild. I loved its fragrance.
4.5/5 (Fragrance can be little mild)

                                                                            Before application

                                                                 After application

How It Works On Me
First thing I want to say is that this cream is in my HG list. My skin tends to change somewhat oily in summers and those times, this cream is pick for sure. It spreads easily (But not that quick, as the consistency is very light you need to massage the cream over your face till it gets absorbed) and gives a light matte effect. It instantly brightens my face and gives an oily free look. However dry skins may feel it stretchy or tight. With regular use, this cream fades away the spots and evens out my skin up to an extent. I dislike the slight powdery consistency of this cream. but still okay with it for its other benefits. It doesn't make me fair, or white as per the claim. No cream can do this I know but the brightening effect is pretty good and this is what I want too. I am not crazy about pale skins :P Bright, soft and beautiful is enough. I totally love this cream and using it everyday! (Except winters). Oily skins and also normal to oily skins should try this one for sure!
4/5

PROS
  1. Instantly gives a matte effect and brightens skin.
  2. Contains natural ingredients such as aloe vera, wall nut, orange and rose which are very good for your skin.
  3. No side effects and it doesn't break out skin! This is a great plus.
  4. Doesn't make skin greasy or oily. Perfect for all season usage in oily skins.
  5. Stays on my face for a long time and can be used as a good makeup base.
  6. Hygienic packaging and travel friendly.
  7. Smells floral. I love it.
  8. Comes in a dirt cheap price and lasts really long as a little amount is enough for whole face and neck.
  9. It's Himalaya herbals. So easily available everywhere!
  10. Fades away dark spots and evens out skin up to an extent.

CONS
  1. Stretchy feel if used on dry skins. It will not suit dry skins anytime, even summers.
  2. Contains parabens. (Every other cosmetic product do so)
  3. The cream has a slight powdery consistency.
  4. Fragrance may be a bit heavy for sensitive noses but gets mild after application.
My Recommendation: A great pick for oily skins! normals too I guess, not sure.

Overall Rating: 4/5

Will I repurchase?: Why not? I said it's in my HG list isn't it? :P

Himalaya Herbals Natural Moisturizing Lip Butter Review

I am a great Cocoa butter lover and hence I always pick the products which has the "Coco Butter" ingredient in it, no matter how it works, I don't even read reviews before getting one. And today, I am reviewing a product, sure a "Cocoa Butter" product from Himalaya Herbals which has almost  become my winter HG product. It's a lip butter meant for moisturizing lips. Mango butter rejuvenates the skin and helps minimize lip wrinkles.

My Views and Ratings

The Packaging
The lip butter comes in a small transparent tub with a green top cap and inner white lid. "Oh tub, you are not so hygienic" , this I what I felt but I just convinced myself as it is sturdily packed with an inner lid to prevent some mess. It would be so much better if this product comes in tube instead of tub. The cap of the tub is firm and hence the pack becomes travel friendly too. A perfect small and cute tub for everyday use and travel use too (Though I expect tube packing)
Rating: 3.5/5
                                                   Tub, Cap and lid

To guess the Size (In my palm)

Colour, Consistency and Fragrance
The lip butter is very rich, smooth, thick and has a real buttery texture. It is transparent and shows no tint, so colorless lip balms/butter lovers will enjoy it. Even though the consistency is pretty thick, it is very easy to take it out and apply over your lips. It glides smoothly and spreads well without any trouble. To say about the fragrance in single word, It's my "Cocoa Butter" Yes! lovely Cocoa butter flavor and fragrance it has! I love smelling it all the time as it is very tempting. No one can find anything bad in it's fragrance even sensitive noses and hence I would name this as one of the best smelling lip butter!
Rating: 5/5
The Lip butter in my hand

How it Works On Me
Well..I am using this product for past few days. I do apply it over my lips once in the morning and once at night. This product budges a little while food/drink intake but still it doesn't leave my lips dry or chapped. The lip butter is quite thick but still glides onto my lips smoothly with a fresh cocoa butter fragrance. The fragrance lasts for a decent time and the lip butter stays all day long if you have normal lips. It keep my lips soft, supple all day long with a single application in the morning, I reapply once at night before going to bed. You should apply this twice a day if you have extremely chapped lips and it's not the one which you can use it under your lipstick, because it makes your lipstick bleed due to its thickness. As this made my lips soft and supple, I prefer to use this product in all the seasons, especially in winters. This is going to my winter HG list!! :)
Rating: 4.5/5 (-0.5 for making my lipstick bleed)

PROS
  1. Rich buttery texture which glides onto lips smoothly
  2. A very little amount is enough for every application, hence lasts longer.
  3. Free from petroleum jelly, silicon, artificial colours & preservatives. It is made of natural ingredients and hence, a great boon to all who hate waxy petroleum balms on their lips.
  4. It make lips soft, supple, smooth and somewhat cures my fine lip wrinkles.
  5. Even after budging due to food intake, my lips feel soft. It never leaves dryness at all.
  6. Easily available everywhere!! It's Himalaya herbals :P
  7. The rich fragrance of Cocoa butter.. yummy :P
  8. A great pick for dry lips in all the seasons.
 CONS
  1. My tub packaging :( (Would be better if it comes in tube)
  2. Not suitable to use along with your lipstick, it does bleeds (This can't be taken as a con for the worthy other benefits of this lip butter though)
My Recommendation: Do you have dry or Chapped lips? Are you a Cocoa Butter lover? Crazy about yummy smelling and colourless lip butters? Need a great winter nourishing product for lips?  Go ahead! It's just another awesome product from Himalaya herbals!

Overall Rating: 4.5/5

Will I Repurchase?: No guess! It's pretty sure, I will. :) No other product I have ever used cured my chapped lips like this one does.

Product sent by PR for consideration. But all my opinions remain honest.
